Legal Notice for the Board of Registrars Public Session on September 4, 2024.


Absentee Ballot Applications

Absentee Ballot Applications are now available to print for the Tuesday, September 10, 2024, State Primary Election and Tuesday, November 5, 2024, State General/Presidential Election. A separate application will need to be completed for the September Primary and the November General/Presidential Election.

Applications are also available at the Office of the City Clerk.

For voters who meet the criteria to vote absentee, ballots are now available at the of the Office of the City Clerk. 


Upcoming Elections

  • State Primary Election - September 10, 2024 - Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • State General Election - November 5, 2024 - Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: There can be no Party affiliation changes prior to the September 10, 2024, State Primary Election, as the deadline for changes has passed. (RSA 654:34)   

 

Last Day to Register to Vote prior to September State Primary Election

Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in the Office of the City Clerk until 4:30 p.m. Also, the Board of Registrars will be available in the lobby of City Hall that evening from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to take registrations and change of addresses.

How to Register to Vote

Information Required

When determining the qualifications of an applicant, the supervisors of the checklist, or the town or city clerk, shall require the applicant to present proof of citizenship, age, and domicile, as provided in the following categories:

Citizenship

The supervisors of the checklist, or the town or city clerk, shall accept from the applicant any one of the following as proof of citizenship: the applicant's birth certificate, a passport, naturalization papers if the applicant is a naturalized citizen, a citizenship affidavit, or any other reasonable documentation which indicates the applicant is a United States citizen.

Age

Any reasonable documentation indicating the applicant is 18 years of age or older.

Alternate Options (other than above)

  1. You may register on Election Day.
  2. You may register to vote in the City Clerk's Office during regular business hours.
  3. If you meet the state's voter requirements and qualifications and are unable to register in person because of physical disability, military service, or because of temporary absence, you may register by mail. You should request an Absentee Registration Affidavit and a Voter Registration Card from the City Clerk. The Absentee Registration Affidavit must be witnessed and then both the affidavit and the voter registration card are to be returned to the City Clerk.
