Afula-Gilboa

Since 1979, the Greater New Haven Jewish community has been involved with Afula through Project Renewal, which sought to develop infrastructure improvements for a growing city. Beginning in 1993, the Greater New Haven Jewish community expanded this relationship by partnering with Afula and the surrounding region of the Gilboa in the UJA Partnership 2000 program. Partnership 2000 seeks to promote relationships between partnered communities by working together on economic, social, educational and cultural projects. Both Greater New Haven and Afula/Gilboa have benefited from the joint projects, which continue to foster professional and personal linkages between the two communities.
